Penumbra

A capsule collection of avant garde dresses inspired by Shadow Work Theory by Carl Jung + Kintsugi – the Japanese art of preserving broken things.

Penumbra

Penumbra is a collection that lives close to my heart—born from a lifelong curiosity about the human mind and spirit. Growing up in an emotionally expressive home and studying psychology in my formative years, I became deeply interested in the why behind our thoughts, choices, and emotional landscapes. This collection is a visual meditation on those questions—an exploration of the human journey through heartbreak, healing, and the tender, often difficult act of self-acceptance. Inspired by Carl Jung’s Shadow Work, the Japanese philosophy of Wabi-Sabi, and the art of Kintsugi—the practice of mending broken pottery with gold—Penumbra reflects our shared emotional cracks not as flaws, but as places where light can pour in. Each piece uses sheer and translucent textiles to speak to our inherent vulnerability, layered with embroidery that mimics the texture of cracked skin or fractured surfaces, reminding us that no matter our outer form or inner battles, we are all complex, beautiful, and whole in our own way. The colors, textures, and oversized beaded embroideries are symbolic—bold, raw, and larger than life—echoing the emotional weight we carry and the brilliance that can emerge when we embrace every part of ourselves. Penumbra isn’t just fashion; it’s an emotional landscape made wearable. I invite you to view this collection not just as clothing, but as a reflection of your own journey—your shadows, your scars, and your radiant becoming.
